Public Policy and Competitiveness

The primary goal of the APRC is to examine how public policy impacts the competitiveness and sustainability of Canada’s automotive industry. Several APRC research projects examine how specific public policies impact automotive industry employment, production, trade, investment, and economic contributions. Some of these projects include:

  • An analysis of the impact of incentives offered by the federal and provincial governments on automakers’ investment decisions. The results of this research are available here and here.
